Manchester United defeated Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup third round at the DW Stadium this evening.
The Red Devils created a flurry of chances in the first half, but poor finishing let them down.
Diogo Dalot’s magnificent strike put Man United ahead. Bruno Fernandes put the result beyond doubt after scoring the second goal from the penalty spot.
Wigan never troubled the visitors and allowed them to dominate possession.
United will next travel to either Eastleigh or Newport County in the FA Cup fourth round.
Let’s get into some player ratings.
Player Ratings

The right-back could have been more courageous going forward.

The veteran had a comfortable game at the back. He won all his ground duels (5) and made four tackles.

The England international looked lively and provided the impetus from his favoured left-wing spot. His influence faded in the second half.
