Why Manchester United should sign Dayot Upamecano for £42m

Dayot Upamecano has been a revelation this season. The young French centre back has been quietly building up a reputation for himself as a world-class defender. He is catching the eye of all the big clubs in Europe with his performances.

The defender signed a new contract which extends his stay in Germany till the year 2023 but has a new release clause valid from 2021 which means that whoever wants to sign the 21-year-old will have to pay €42m. The player wants to play for the biggest clubs in Europe and certainly Manchester United fit the bill.

A defender whose ability on the ball makes him stand out, Upamecano is fast gaining a reputation as a world-class defender. He is certainly the one to watch.
