‘What a player’, ‘Bargain’, these Man United fans praise 22-year-old star after international display

A section of the Manchester United fans have lauded the performance of Daniel James during Wales’ 2-0 triumph over Azerbaijan in a Euro 2020 qualifier on Saturday.

The Welshman has been one of United’s top performers since his arrival from Swansea City during the summer and he has shown his versatility of playing in both wide attacking positions.

For Wales, the 22-year-old lined up on the left side of the attack and he was a constant threat with his direct running and dribbing and nearly found the net with a stunning long-range strike.

James was unlucky to only find the woodwork with his curling effort but the deflection thereafter provided a simple tap-in for Harry Wilson, who bagged Wales’ second goal in the first half.

While James could not register his name on the scoresheet, the Red Devils fans were nonetheless pleased with his impressive display on the international stage.

Twitter Reactions:

At the club level, James has impressed in his debut campaign in the Premier League with three goals and two assists this term but he should have added more assists to his tally, had Marcus Rashford made better use of his crosses into the box.

Wales face a must-win game against Hungary at home in order to cement their berth in next summer’s Euro 2020 tournament and James will be hoping that he can put up another solid performance with a goalscoring contribution.
