West Ham United revive interest in Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay

Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay is available for transfer and West Ham United are interested after he was the subject of a failed bid from them last summer, according to the Times.

The Scotland international was on the Hammers’ radar last year after falling out of favour under manager Erik ten Hag heading into 2023-24.

However, McTominay established himself as a key player after a move fell through, featuring in 43 games across all competitions.

The 27-year-old tallied ten goals and two assists before heading to the European Championship where he bagged a strike in three appearances.

McTominay has returned to Man United for pre-season training and was seen at Carrington on Wednesday.

Fulham have also been linked with the Man United academy graduate and have already had an offer knocked back this summer.

The Craven Cottage club are expected to return with an improved bid as the Red Devils want to cash in on some of their top players to make more quality recruitment.

West Ham will be standing in their way as manager Julen Lopetegui wants to bolster his squad ahead of his debut campaign in charge of the Hammers.

The Spaniard also wants Man United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who is out of favour under Ten Hag.

With Netherlands international forward Joshua Zirkzee already signed and Lille centre-back Leny Yoro on his way, the Red Devils are expected to sell some players to balance the books.

If everything goes according to plan, McTominay and Wan-Bissaka could be on their way to West Ham, while more players could follow them out the door.
