West Ham start medicals for Manchester United stars Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay

Manchester United stars Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay are set to join West Ham United, reports journalist Alan Nixon.

He claims on his Patreon page that the Hammers have started the process of signing the duo and they have had long-distance medicals.

Man United have sent their records to West Ham within the last 24 hours and a deal is expected to be struck between both clubs.

Maguire and McTominay are both surplus to requirements at the Old Trafford club, and manager Erik ten Hag will be glad to get them out of his squad to make way for new arrivals.

The England international centre-back was recently stripped of the captaincy, with Bruno Fernandes now donning the armband, while the Scottish midfielder has fallen down the pecking order.

Man United want to sign Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, but they need to sell some players to raise funds for the Morocco international.

Both players have been constantly linked with West Ham this summer, and the Red Devils reportedly wanted to use one of them in a player-plus-cash deal to sign Declan Rice before he joined Arsenal.

It appears the Hammers have finally agreed terms of the deals with Man United and the players, and getting them off their wage bill will be great for the team.

Maguire and McTominay have been faithful servants of the club, but they are no longer in Ten Hag’s plans as he looks to take his side to the next level.

More departures are expected this summer in a much-needed squad rebuild.
