Many Manchester United stars are currently away with their country during the international break.
Striker Romelu Lukaku was on duty with Belgium in his homeland in what was the Red Devils’ only match this week.
Roberto Martinez’s side were comfortable 4-0 winners over Saudi Arabia.
The game saw Lukaku score a first-half brace before being substituted in the 79th minute. Borussia Dortmund striker Michy Batshuayi and Kevin De Bruyne scored Belgium’s other two goals in the second half.
Romelu Lukaku’s first strike was into the bottom corner from 20 yards to open the scoring on 13 minutes. He doubled the score six minutes before half-time poking into the same corner as his first following an excellent assist from Eden Hazard.
Belgium manager Martinez started with Lukaku as his sole striker and the 24-year-old’s position could be under threat between now and the start of the World Cup with Batshuayi scored six goals in six Bundesliga starts since joining Dortmund on loan from Chelsea in January. His performance this evening will be a reminder to the manager and fans that the Manchester United striker deserves his starting role.
