Manchester United have confirmed that season ticket holders will be given the chance to opt out of Europa League games, after Louis Van Gaal’s side were knocked out of the Champions League last night.
According to the Manchester Evening News, however, season ticket holders will need to purchase Europa League matches to continue to be eligible for away games.
The draw for the Europa League last 32 stage will take place on Monday December 14 and the games will be played on February 18 and 25.
United have not competed in the second tier of European football since they were knocked out by Athletic Bilbao in the 2011-12 season, when they lost 3-2 at home and were beaten 2-1 away by a side containing Ander Herrera.
