United keen to secure new deal

David de GeaRepresentitives for both United and David de Gea met recently to offer the keeper a new improved contract after an alleged approach from Barcelona.

After suffering a shaky start to life in the Premier League, de Gea has improved his performances to such an extent that many Reds placed him second in their list for last seasons Player of the Year Award.

With Victor Valdes moving on, Barcelona are in the hunt for a new keeper and are equally keen to tie up a deal which would see de Gea move back to Spain but, if his representitives are to be believed, de Gea is perfectly happy in England now and also excited at the prospect of a friend and International team mate (Thiago Alcantara) joining him at United.

The deal on the table is rumoured to be in the region of £75k p/week in a bid to secure his services for four more years.

Widely considered as Spain’s No1 goalie for years to come, de Gea is touted as potentially the best keeper in the World so it’s little wonder the club are trying to secure the deal now and also reward great, match winning performances last season.
