Cristiano Ronaldo has poured cold water on the hopes of United fans who were dreaming of seeing the Portuguese star returning to Old Trafford this summer, despite admitting that he’s missing English football.
After rumours circulated last night on different social media networks that United were poised to table a blockbuster offer for the Real Madrid star, in an interview at a promotional event in Singapore the 28-year-old admitted that, while he still hasn’t extended his current deal with Real Madrid – due to expire in two years – there’s little hope of an imminent return to Old Trafford.
“I miss English football,” said Ronaldo. “For me, it was one of the best years in my career when I was there in Manchester United. Everyone knows that it is a club that is still in my heart and I really, really miss.
“But now my life is in Spain. I am enjoying playing there too.
“Part of my life is there, but in the future we never know. I am really, really happy in the Spanish league.”
I wonder if this will stop some Reds from deluding themselves even further. Ronaldo he’s NOT going anywhere.
