Manchester United defender Jonny Evans has emerged as a target for West Bromwich Albion, as Louis Van Gaal looks to streamline his squad ahead of deadline day.
According to ESPN, United are prepared to sell Evans, who has fallen behind Chris Smalling, Daley Blind, Phil Jones and even Paddy McNair in the pecking order, in this transfer window and West Brom are the latest of a number of clubs understood to be keen to sign the Norther Ireland international.
Stoke, Newcastle and Everton have all been linked with a move for the 27-year-old, although Roberto Martinez has since claimed his club are not interested in signing the United defender.
Evans, who has made just six appearances for United since the turn of the year, has been a good servant to the club but has regressed enormously over the last two seasons and it would be no surprise to see him depart before September.
