United could still sign Falcao, says Monaco’s vice-president

Chelsea-v-Manchester-United-Premier-LeagueRadamel Falcao could be at Old Trafford next season, according to Monaco’s vice-president Vadim Vasilyev, who has claimed Manchester United have not ruled out signing the striker.

The Colombian has failed to impress since joining from Monaco on loan, scoring only four goals over a mere 13 Premier League starts, and has been linked with a move away from United in the summer, as the club looks unlikely to meet Falcao’s £43.5m price-tag at the end of the season.

However, according to the Monaco’s vice-president, Louis Van Gaal has not ruled the opportunity of securing the striker’s services on a permanent basis.

“I saw the Manchester United people last Sunday and they have not yet decided if they would exercise the option,” he French newspaper Nice-Matin on Tuesday.

“It’s not his best season, but they kept the opportunity to make a decision at the end of the season.”
