“Unhappy” Kobbie Mainoo set to push for January loan exit after unfair Ruben Amorim treatment

Manchester United wonderkid Kobbie Mainoo is looking to double down on his request for a temporary spell away from the club.

Mainoo had hoped to secure a summer loan to get consistent game time, but United blocked the move.

However, the Red Devils were adamant about having him in Ruben Amorim’s squad.

Mainoo has yet to make his first Premier League start this season.

Across five appearances, he has clocked just 113 minutes in the league.

According to reliable insider Sully Talkz, Mainoo is “unhappy” regarding his lack of game time and feels he is being “underappreciated”.

The report also mentioned that the 20-year-old will ask to leave on a loan move in January if the situation does not improve.

Mainoo’s drive is fuelled by the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he hopes to earn a spot in England’s squad.

He wants to be part of the Three Lions squad that will travel to the United States for the prestigious tournament.

Mainoo is a generational talent and is rated very highly at Carrington.

It was also reported that United staff have been impressed with his professionalism and attitude in training despite receiving unfair treatment from Amorim.

The Portuguese head coach believes Mainoo is not fast enough to play as a designated number eight.

He must improve his pace to cope with the high-speed transitions of the Premier League.

Positional awareness is another area Amorim wants the youngster to refine if he is to operate as a number six midfielder.

Amorim has Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes as his preferred midfield duo.

The United academy graduate must work tirelessly in training to make a case for himself.

The youngster could take inspiration from Casemiro, whose United career looked over when Amorim replaced Erik ten Hag.

The Brazilian fought his way back into the manager’s plan after intense training sessions and superb performances in the Europa League.
