Under-18 Premier League Cup final: Manchester United vs Manchester City preview and prediction

Manchester United’s Under-18s will face Manchester City in the Premier League Cup final at Leigh Sports Village on Tuesday.

The young Red Devils have already clinched the Premier League North title and are aiming to add another trophy to their tally this season.

Match Preview

United wrapped up the title with a 2-1 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Sir Jack Hayward Training Ground.

Gabriele Biancheri opened the scoring for United in the 11th minute before Connor McLeod quickly restored parity.

Biancherir added another which proved decisive in securing victory for the visitors.

Adam Lawrence and his team will now be looking to beat City in the cup final on Tuesday.

The two sides last met each other in March when the young Cityzens ran out 4-1 winners at the Joie Stadium.

Farid Alfa-Ruprecht scored in each half, while Ashton Muir’s strike and Jaydan Dejon Kamason’s own goal put the hosts 4-0 ahead.

Ethan Williams pulled one back in the 87th minute but City held out for an emphatic 4-1 victory.

City have since won four of their five matches across all competitions, including their 1-0 win against Bristol City in the FA Youth Cup semi-final.

Manchester United will be brimming with confidence after recently clinching the Premier League North title.

Lawrence led his side to an incredible campaign, with his team racking up 19 wins from 22 matches.

City are expected to provide tough competition in Tuesday’s game but we believe United will prevail.

Manchester United 3-1 Manchester City.
