Manchester defender Tyrell Malacia has been out of action for the last few months due to a knee surgery, according to Manchester Evening News.
The Dutchman has not featured for the Red Devils since the final Premier League game of last season against Fulham at Old Trafford.
He did not play any part for the club in pre-season and it is now revealed that he has been sidelined due to an operation for a knee problem.
The left-back suffered the issue during the back end of last season. The Red Devils initially looked to manage him with pain injections, but a surgery was eventually required.
Malacia is anticipated to return before the New Year.
Malacia should not be rushed back into action
The €22 million-rated star had a good start to his United career last season, but struggled with form and consistency during the second half of the campaign.
In our opinion, his knee injury could have played a part. Malacia looked far from his best during the final months where he was unconvincing in tracking back.
Malacia is anticipated to make his comeback before January but we believe he should not be rushed back into action. United have sufficient depth in the department.
Sergio Reguilon was signed on loan to fill the void. The Spaniard has been nursing a hamstring injury, but should return in time for the away game at Sheffield United.
Shaw has been on the sidelines for several weeks, but he could return by November. Hence, United should ease Malacia into the proceedings after his recovery.
