Manchester United are preparing to welcome Nottingham Forest to Old Trafford in their final Premier League fixture of the 2025-26 season.
The occasion is expected to carry huge emotional significance, with Casemiro making his final appearance at the Theatre of Dreams.
The experienced Brazilian missed the previous match through injury but is now fully fit and available for selection.
Head coach Michael Carrick shared the latest team news during his pre-match press conference.
He said: “Case is available. I can speak for since I’ve been here and met him and worked with him. He’s been fantastic for us, for me personally, for us as a group, what he’s given us.”
Carrick also provided an update on Benjamin Sesko who was taken off at the break against Liverpool.
The Slovenian forward has been struggling with a shin injury and was not included in the recent trip to Sunderland.
The head coach added: “Ben is not as straightforward. He is still not 100%. Apart from that we’re alright.”
Two players expected to be out vs Forest
It was revealed earlier today that Matthijs de Ligt underwent a back surgery and is not expected to return until the early stages of the 2026-27 campaign.
The Dutch defender had initially been expected to make a swift recovery after suffering back problems towards the end of November.
However, persistent complications ultimately prevented him from making a return to action.
Sesko has been in sensational form this season but will unfortunately miss the final home game.
Joshua Zirkzee led the attack last weekend and and could retain his place in the starting XI against Forest.
Both Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha also possess the versatility to operate as central strikers if needed.
Casemiro is expected to return to the starting lineup in place of Mason Mount, who featured in central midfield during the previous match.
Manuel Ugarte is also likely to be named on the bench after recovering from an injury.
