Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli’s absence from the first two games of the new season has put interested parties on red-alert.
The midfielder’s future at White Hart Lane is best characterized as uncertain and Spurs manager Jose Mourinho is doing nothing to sort it out. Mourinho’s cryptic answers regarding Alli’s role at the club has added fuel to the fire.
French champions Paris Saint Germain are leading the race for the Englishman’s signature. Real Madrid are also interested.
Alli’s availability could be good news for Manchester United.
United are long term admirers of Alli and have been linked with a move for some time. Even United legend Sir Alex Ferguson advised Mourinho to buy Alli during his time at Old Trafford. Louis Van Gaal tried to sign Alli too.
A player who can also play centrally, Alli’s quick feet make him an excellent option for playing one-twos around the box. His finishing is top-notch; his boundless energy makes it hard for the opponents to breathe throughout the game.
Manchester United’s midfield is running smoothly at the moment. The impact of Portuguese sensation Bruno Fernandes has been huge. His command of the team has also brought Paul Pogba out from his self inflicted shell. The arrival of Donny Van De Beek from Ajax is also a big addition to this squad.
The problem in this team is the lack of quality depth. United’s injury record is poor and the club was in turmoil due to it. If the likes of Jesse Lingard and Andreas Pereira leave the club, signing Aouar becomes a no-brainer. And United are ready to offload both Lingard and Pereira.
Lingard is already linked with a move to Spurs and AC Milan. Periera is approached by Valencia and Benfica too.
As per Fabrizio Romano, Spurs are ready to sign Lingard only if Alli leaves. Spurs want to sell Alli and buy Lingard. United want to sell Lingard and look for replacements. Its a match made in heaven.
