Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly submitted a €60 million offer to sign Manchester United target Frenkie de Jong this summer (h/t Jijantes).
Manager Ange Postecoglou has made a huge impact in his debut season in the Premier League, with Spurs in contention to finish in the top four.
The club’s hierarchy backed Postecoglou in the January transfer window as they signed Radu Dragusin and Timo Werner. But they have even bigger plans for the summer.
Ten Hag is a big fan of De Jong
The 26-year-old looked close to joining United in 2022 after they reached an agreement with the Blaugrana.
But he remained in Spain after refusing to agree personal terms with Man Utd.
However, the Red Devils have been linked with a summer move for De Jong and they could be willing to pay a bumper fee to secure a deal.
De Jong will enter the final two years of his contract in July, and he hasn’t accepted the new offer by the La Liga giants.
Erik ten Hag is a huge admirer of De Jong – a player he managed at Ajax.
But the Dutch manager faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford.
Recent results have been encouraging, but failing to secure Champions League football for next season could see him leave the club this summer.
If Ten Hag departs, United are unlikely to make a move for De Jong, who is currently on £406,000-a-week wages.
