Three Manchester United starlets have been selected in the England youth squad ahead of the upcoming international fixture.
Shea Lacey, Ethan Wheatley and Elyh Harrison have been named in the England Under-20 squad that will face Japan on November 14.
Wheatley is currently spending the 2025–26 season on loan at Northampton Town and has scored two goals and provided one assist in 14 League One games.
The 19-year-old has shown flashes of real quality but is still searching for the consistency needed to take the next step in his career.
Already the 250th academy graduate to feature for United’s senior team, Wheatley has made four first-team appearances.
Shea Lacey continues to make waves at Carrington and is widely tipped as the next big breakthrough from United’s academy conveyor belt.
The 18-year-old possesses excellent technical ability and has already taken part in first-team training sessions under United head coach Ruben Amorim.
He is also in great form, having registered one goal and two assists in his last four games.
Lacey loves cutting inside from the right flank, drifting into central areas to create scoring chances for teammates.
He also featured for the England U-20s last month and even participated in a training session under Thomas Tuchel.
Elyh Harrison is the third United star to be included in Ben Futcher’s squad.
The goalkeeper has been unable to make the most of his opportunities at Shrewsbury Town and has been an unused substitute in each of the last six games.
The Red Devils could contemplate recalling the 19-year-old in January and sending him on another short-term loan spell.
One notable omission from the latest England squad is Ayden Heaven, who featured in Futcher’s group against Switzerland last month but misses out this time around.
