Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed that Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes will feature against Real Betis in the second leg of the Europa League round of 16 tie.
The Red Devils sealed a comfortable 4-1 win over the Spanish outfit in the first leg at Old Trafford last week and they are now favourites to progress to the quarter-final.
Ahead of the second leg in Seville tomorrow, Ten Hag was posed with many questions by reporters and one of those was on the involvement of Casemiro and Fernandes.
The midfield duo are currently one yellow card away from missing the first leg of the quarter-final but the manager has insisted that he has no plans of resting either player.
Speaking in his press conference this evening, he said: “They will play, both. It is a very good opponent. Last week we had a good result, but we need to go again. We need our best players and our best team.”
Erik ten Hag wants to finish the job in Seville
United delivered a tremendous second-half display at Old Trafford last week to secure a 4-1 victory.
However, the job is far from done. Despite a three-goal lead, Ten Hag is wary of a potential fight-back from the La Liga club. He is likely to name a strong starting line-up once more.
Antony won’t be involved tomorrow due to an illness, but there is still plenty of quality in the squad. Judging by Ten Hag’s presser, Bruno Fernandes could start on the right wing.
This would mean that Jadon Sancho will retain his number 10 position with Marcus Rashford on the left flank. Wout Weghorst will lead the line. He has started every game since his arrival.
