‘The best in the world’ – Antony lauds Cristiano Ronaldo

Manchester United’s marquee summer signing Antony has branded Cristiano Ronaldo as ‘the best in the world’.

Antony joined the Red Devils from Ajax for £85.5 million on transfer deadline day, becoming the third most expensive signing in United’s history.

In a recent interview with, the Brazilian international expressed great admiration for Ronaldo who stayed at Old Trafford after a summer marred with transfer speculation.

He said: “I’ve come to help my teammates. Regardless of age, there’s immense talent in all the players.

“Words can’t describe Cristiano, the best in the world. In just a few days, I’ve learnt a lot from him. 

“He has an extraordinary mind and, whenever I talk to him, I take a lot from it.

“I’m sure that we have a strong attack and it’s very promising for the future.
