Manchester United are expected to make an official offer for Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana, according to reputed journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Red Devils recently finalised a transfer agreement to sign Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount, and they are now focusing on a potential deal for Onana.
Di Marzio reports that talks are progressing quickly between United and Inter for him, and the Red Devils are expected to make a formal bid by tonight.
It is added that United will have to offer €50 million (£43m) plus bonuses for a deal to be accepted.
United should finalise quick deal for Onana
The Red Devils recently had a prolonged transfer saga for Mount. They made as many as four bids for the Englishman before finding an agreement with Chelsea.
United need to avoid these kind of negotiations. The Nerazzurri are quite clear with their demands, and the Red Devils should meet the figure to secure a quick deal.
Onana would be a fantastic acquisition for the club. The 27-year-old is one of the best shot-stoppers when it comes to distribution and mobility in the box.
The Cameroonian has the ability to deliver different range of passes, and also excels in intercepting crosses. He can also operate as a sweeper-keeper when required.
He would be a big upgrade on David de Gea, who could leave as a free agent when his contract expires tonight. Hopefully, United can secure his transfer in the first attempt.
The Red Devils have a free run at signing the former Ajax man, but they can’t take things for granted. Personal terms should be a formality once a deal is finalised.
