Tahith Chong is believed to leave Manchester United on loan

Tahith Chong’s agent held talks with Werder Bremen’s Sporting director, Frank Baumann and Clemens Fritz at the Weser Stadium on Tuesday. A loan agreement could be reached between the two clubs.

Borrowing guys from top clubs like this can make sense for us.” Baumann said.

Erkan Alkan (Chong’s agent): “Tahith would like to join the Bundesliga. We’ll talk to United about it on Thursday.”

Chong has just made 3 Premier League appearances this season and is struggling to find a place in the squad. In an interview in 2019 with a Dutch outlet, the United prodigy said “Leaving is a difficult question because I don’t think about it now. I only think about United.

This shows his dedication to the club. Though the arrival of Daniel James from Swansea limited his playing time, Chong is a creative winger who gives his 100 percent in the game.

His brilliant cameo against LASK in the second leg of the Europa League Round of 16 at left-back shows he could be useful in cup competition games.

With Tahith we’re very happy he sees his future here,we can see a very good player there and we’ll give him time to develop” Solskjaer said.

Inter Milan were eyeing him in 2019 and his contract was about to be over by the end of 19-20 season but the club offered him a two-year deal with an option to extend for a further year.

I’m at a club where, if you work hard, you get your opportunities. It’s all about taking those opportunities as well. I think we’ve got a manager who believes in young players. It’s an exciting time at the moment.” Chong said after signing the new contract.

It is a good decision by all the parties to let Chong leave on loan to find more minutes and develop his game. He is not gifted as Marcus Rahsford or Mason Greenwood who can perform at a standard level straight in their breakout season. However, the 20-year-old could really benefit from this move.
