Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has heaped praise on one Manchester United star following the 2-1 Premier League win over Brentford on Saturday.
The Red Devils ended a five-match winless streak with a comeback victory over the Bees.
Their first half performance was far from convincing, but they made amends after the break.
Alejandro Garnacho scored on the volley from a splendid Marcus Rashford cross. Rasmus Hojlund bagged the winner from another fine Bruno Fernandes assist.
Shearer has now included Garnacho in his Premier League Team of the Week. He said that the United graduate was the club’s standout player on the day.
He said: “Tucked away his goal superbly and was Man Utd’s standout player as they got a much-needed win.”
Garnacho has had a good start to the campaign with five goals and three assists from 12 outings.
He has been in-and-out of the starting line-up, but in our view, he should be an undisputed starter.
Garnacho is most comfortable from the left wing and he showed his class with a stellar display.
Aside from his goal, the Argentine had 51 touches. He won six duels and 100% of his tackles (3/3).
The 20-year-old also made two interceptions while creating two chances for his teammates.
The fans will be hoping that the manager will stick with Garnacho without any kind of rotation.
Rashford also looks better from the right wing with his willingness to make crosses into the box.
United will be in Europa League action against Fenerbahce on the road on Thursday evening.
