Sofyan Amrabat vows to give his best for Manchester United in first interview

Sofyan Amrabat sealed his move to Manchester United on transfer deadline day last Friday.

The Red Devils wanted to sign him permanently but the Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations meant the club could only complete a loan move.

However, they have the option to make the transfer permanent at the end of the 2023-24 season.

As he wasn’t registered before midday on Friday, the Moroccan couldn’t be part of United’s squad on Sunday against Arsenal.

However, the 27-year-old is expected to make his debut when the Red Devils host Brighton & Hove Albion after the international break.

Amrabat is very excited to play under Erik ten Hag, who was his coach at Dutch side Utrecht.

He told ManUtd.com: “I don’t like to speak about myself. I want to show it on the pitch, but I can promise that I will give my best with everything – every day, every minute, every second.

“So, it is the only thing that I can say now.”

The 27-year-old also appreciated the role of Ten Hag in his development while playing at Utrecht.

“It was very important because I was very young,” Amrabat added. “I was 18, 19 years old and he gave me the chance to play in the first team with Utrecht.

“We had a fantastic time – a really good season. I learned a lot from him.

“So maybe he’s one of the most important people in my career for now.”

Amrabat is expected to be a success at Old Trafford. He proved his skills in the Serie A and also at the 2022 World Cup.

The Morocco international mainly plays as a defensive midfielder but can also be deployed in central midfield.

His interview suggests he is really determined to prove his abilities at United and seal a permanent move next year.
