Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat dreams of returning to Manchester United amid interest from Fenerbahce and Galatasaray, according to Corriere dello Sport.
The Moroccan star spent the previous season on loan with the Red Devils. He had a mixed campaign with the club and made only 30 appearances across all competitions.
United decided against triggering the option to buy him, but the midfielder has not given up on the possibility of rejoining the club before the transfer window closes.
Corriere dello Sport claim that Amrabat would like to continue his career away from Florence and ‘dreams’ of returning to Old Trafford.
Fenerbahce and Galatasaray are also interested in signing him. A final decision could be made soon as Fiorentina may want to invest the transfer funds on a new midfielder.
Amrabat’s return to Man Utd can’t be ruled out
United remain interested in signing Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain, but a deal is unlikely to materialise unless the French champions lower their £60 million price tag.
Monaco’s Youssouf Fofana and Burnley’s Sander Berge are some of the alternative options. The club have held initial talks for both players, but have not made any formal transfer bids.
As things stand, Amrabat is the fourth-choice on the club’s wishlist, but the scenario could change. If PSG refuse to reduce the fee for Ugarte, United could opt for a cheaper alternative.
Both Fofana and Berge are available for £30m. The arrival of one of them could open the door for United to pursue a cut-price deal for Amrabat whose contract expires in June 2025.
Amrabat, who was described as ‘world-class‘ by Morocco manager Walid Regragui, could secure another late move to Old Trafford.
The Utrecht graduate is still mentioned as a first-team player on United’s official website which suggests that a reunion could happen.
