Six Man Utd players to miss Leeds United clash with trio ruled out by Erik ten Hag

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed that Anthony Martial, Scott McTominay and Antony continue to be sidelined with injuries ahead of the Leeds United game on Sunday.

The Red Devils played out a frustrating 2-2 Premier League draw against Leeds in midweek and they will be hoping to avenge the result in the upcoming trip to Elland Road.

Ahead of the game, Ten Hag has said that there is no positive update on the injury front and confirmed that Martial, McTominay and Antony are not expected to make the squad.

He told Manutd.com: “I don’t expect [them to be fit]. We have some days obviously, but I don’t expect it. If I can oversee it from now, I don’t see any new problems coming up.”

The Red Devils boss went on further to indicate that they may not be available for the first leg of the Europa League knockout play-off round against Barcelona next week.

Aside from the trio, United are set to be without Casemiro on Sunday due to suspension. The Brazilian star will be serving the second match of his three-game domestic ban.

Christian Eriksen and Donny van de Beek are also ruled out with long-term injuries. The former could return in early May, but that is a huge question mark at the moment.

Meanwhile, Aaron Wan-Bissaka was a surprise absentee in midweek through an illness. Ten Hag did not provide an update today which suggests that he could make the game.

United must beat Leeds at Elland Road

The Red Devils dropped two costly points against Leeds at Old Trafford. Leeds made quick starts in both halves and capitalised on positional errors to find the back of the net.

United could have still won the game with the chances created and they must redeem themselves in the upcoming trip to Elland Road where it won’t be easy for them.

Leeds will be up for the challenge with home advantage, but United should prevail with a victory this time around. Ten Hag must make changes to the starting XI.

United made a comeback from 2-0 down in midweek after Jadon Sancho and Facundo Pellistri were introduced out wide while Marcus Rashford led the attack.

We anticipate something similar. Alejandro Garnacho could start ahead of Pellistri if Sancho occupies the number 10 role and Bruno Fernandes switches to the right flank.
