Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy is flattered by the interest from Manchester United ahead of the winter transfer window, according to German publication Bild.
The Guinea international has had an extraordinary start to the campaign with Stuttgart. He has netted 16 goals from just 11 games for them. Out of those, 15 have come in the Bundesliga.
Foot Mercato reported yesterday that United are one of his admirers and Bild add to the story by saying that the striker is ‘flattered’ by the possibility of moving to Old Trafford this winter.
The former Rennes man is open to pursuing a new challenge in the New Year. Aside from United, AC Milan, Newcastle United and Atletico Madrid are also interested in the 27-year-old.
He currently has a release clause worth €17.5 million which will be active in January.
Guirassy would be a clever piece of investment
Guirassy has never had a prolific scoring campaign in his career. He has hit 16 goals for the first time in a season and it has probably come at the right time.
His sensational form has impressed scouts of many clubs including United, and the Red Devils could be tempted to sign him due to the low buy-out clause.
There is always a risk associated with any signing but in our view, Guirassy would be a clever piece of investment if the club can reap rewards from him.
If he can continue his scoring run in the Premier League, this would put United in a good position to qualify for the Champions League with a top four finish.
The Guinean could be seen as a competitor to Rasmus Hojlund. We could also see the duo playing together up top if manager Erik ten Hag wishes to do so.
Guirassy is strong with his hold-up and link-up play and good in winning aerial duels. He appears an ideal fit for the Premier League as he makes defenders aware of his presence.
