A section of the Manchester United fans have expressed their frustration over the performance of Marcus Rashford following the club’s surprise 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United at St James’ Park.
The Red Devils struggled to stamp their authority during the Premier League meeting against the Magpies and they were eventually made to pay the price after debutant Matthew Longstaff scored in the 72th minute.
As a result, the club have bagged just two wins from the opening eight games of the top-flight campaign and that has already led to question marks whether Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will continue to manage the club.
United have contributed just five league goals since the 4-0 triumph over Chelsea in the curtain-raiser and against the Magpies, their best chance of the game fell to Harry Maguire, who missed a free header on goal.
Elsewhere, Marcus Rashford was once more a disappointment upfront as he managed just 24 touches of the ball through the entire 90 minutes and a few fans have reacted angrily towards his display.
Here are some of the reactions…

Rashford’s movement as a striker is honestly horrific.

Rashford cannot play as a striker. It’s killing us. His movement is non existent.

Can we sell Rashford? No one will lie and say he cares about the clob.
Let another club pay him 200k a week please ????— Manchester_UTD ? (@YimaUnited) October 6, 2019
Rashford has genuinely lacked the positional awareness of a striker this season and he has regularly found himself playing in front of the opposition backline instead of gambling into the box in the anticipation of a cross or pass.
Against the Magpies, he did not have much service to make the difference but the fans nonetheless expect him to make his presence felt, given the striker has the main responsibility to find the net. The Magpies defeat sees United lying in the 12th place and they are now five points behind the top four.
After the international break, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have a testing challenge with league leaders Liverpool making the trip to Old Trafford. A number of injured players including Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial are expected to return and the manager will be hoping for a strong response.
