Sabitzer granted his work permit, currently training at Man Utd

New Manchester United signing Marcel Sabitzer has been granted his work permit, according to Sky Sports.

He is training at Carrington and could be included in the matchday squad for the home clash against Crystal Palace this weekend.

The Red Devils suffered a big blow when Christian Eriksen picked up a serious knock during the recent FA Cup match against Reading. The Dane will be sidelined until at least April.

However, United acted quickly to wrap up a loan deal for Sabitzer from Bayern Munich.

The 28-year-old was regarded as one of the finest midfielders while at RB Leipzig but failed to make the same impact after moving to Bayern in 2021.

The Austrian wasn’t a regular starter at the Allianz Arena, featuring in the starting XI on only seven occasions this term.

However, he is a quality signing who can perform the number eight role and play anywhere in attack.

United have made two brilliant signings in January

United spent heavily in the summer window, and the transfer budget in January was limited.

However, they still made two brilliant signings – Wout Weghorst and Sabitzer.

Given the limited time and budget at their disposal, the club has done an incredible job by completing moves for them.

With United still alive in four competitions, they needed to make some additions to their squad and have done that brilliantly.
