Ruben Amorim praises Matheus Cunha as ‘real quality’ ahead of Wolves clash

Manchester United are gearing up for a Premier League showdown as they welcome Wolverhampton Wanderers to Old Trafford this Sunday.

The Red Devils stormed into the semi-finals, courtesy of a stunning 5-4 spectacle against Lyon in the Europa League last evening.

United head coach Ruben Amorim spoke glowingly about Wolves manager Vitor Pereira and star forward Matheus Cunha.

He said (via ManUtd.com) : “I think he (Pereira) is doing an amazing job, he is playing 3-4-3, he is doing quite well and he is changing some players.

“He has really quality players. Cunha, all these guys, they have a real quality, they are fresh so we know that it is going to be a tough match.”

Cunha is a transfer target for United

The Red Devils have struggled in front of goal with Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee unable to provide the required goal threat.

Marcus Rashford, Antony and Jadon Sancho are likely to head out of Old Trafford in a permanent deal this summer.

United need two forwards to bolster their attack and Cunha is high on their transfer wishlist.

The Brazilian ace recently committed to Wolves with a fresh deal that includes a hefty £62.5 million release clause.

He has been in stellar form this campaign, netting 16 goals and recording four assists in 30 games across all competitions.

He will turn 26 next month and is entering the prime years of his career.

Amorim knows Cunha is a quality player who is already attracting transfer interest from several Premier League clubs.

Arsenal came close to snapping him up in January, but the forward chose to stay loyal to Wolves mid-season.

United have the perfect chance to scout him live on Sunday and decide if they are ready to join the transfer tug-of-war.
