Ronaldo, Antony and Sancho missing from Man Utd’s travelling squad to face Fulham

Manchester United trio Cristiano Ronaldo, Antony and Jadon Sancho are not part of the travelling squad that has made its way to London, according to Manchester Evening News.

The Red Devils are scheduled to face Fulham on the road in Sunday’s late Premier League kick-off and ahead of the game, a 20-man squad has travelled to London via train.

However, this does not include Ronaldo, Antony or Sancho. Ronaldo missed Thursday’s Carabao Cup third round tie through illness and it appears he has not recovered in time.

Meanwhile, Antony has been nursing a hip injury. Sancho was back training at Carrington today following a bout of illness, but has not made the trip to the English capital.

Here is United’s 20-man squad for tomorrow’s game at Craven Cottage:

Goalkeepers: David de Gea, Martin Dubravka, Nathan Bishop

Defenders: Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia

Midfielders: Casemiro, Scott McTominay, Fred, Bruno Fernandes, Christian Eriksen, Donny van de Beek, Zidane Iqbal

Forwards: Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Anthony Elanga, Shola Shoretire

Man Utd without attacking trio for Fulham game

Antony has been a big miss for United on the right wing over the past few games. The Brazilian has three goals since his summer arrival and his absence has been felt.

Erik ten Hag has tried to experiment with Fernandes on the right wing, but it is quite clear that the Portuguese is at his best from the number 10 position.

Hopefully, the Dutch tactician will stick with Fernandes in his preferred spot and drop Van de Beek, who has been dreadful from the attacking midfield role lately.

Meanwhile, the absence of Sancho and Ronaldo may not have a huge impact unlike Antony.

Sancho has been far from his best since the last international break. His illness has paved the way for Alejandro Garnacho to shine and he could start tomorrow.

If the Argentine makes the XI, we may see Marcus Rashford operate from the right flank. The teenager has solely played on the left wing since his breakthrough.

With Ronaldo sidelined, Martial looks set for his first league start since early October. The Frenchman has been hampered by injuries but his form has been superb.

The 26-year-old has bagged four goals and two assists from just six appearances. Ten Hag recently said that he is a perfect player to lead the line for him if he can stay fit.
