Revealed: What Ruben Amorim told 14yo JJ Gabriel after meeting him

Manchester United have a generational talent in their academy who is deservingly getting special attention.

It is easy to guess that we are talking about JJ Gabriel, who has taken youth football by storm with his special talent.

The 14-year-old forward is already bossing the Under-18s, having netted seven goals in six appearances, and he scored again for the Under-17s on Wednesday against Stoke City.

Manchester Evening News have now revealed that United head coach Ruben Amorim has spent time discussing his philosophy with the wonderkid.

Amorim has shared the dressing room with Cristiano Ronaldo during his playing career.

The 40-year-old shared stories of the supreme work ethic Ronaldo possessed, which helped him become one of the greatest athletes the world has ever seen.

Gabriel idolises Brazilian superstar Neymar, and his flair-heavy, unpredictable style of play makes that influence plain to see.

He grew up playing as a left winger, but United U18 coach Darren Fletcher has deployed him as a striker this term.

He wants to make use of his movement to make it difficult for defenders to track the prodigy.

The hype around Gabriel is also evident from his social media reach.

He already has more than 200,000 followers on Instagram and a sponsorship deal with Nike.

It was previously reported that Gabriel was looking to move to a new club, with many European giants ready to sign him.

The United hierarchy, including Director of Football Jason Wilcox and CEO Omar Berrada, stepped in directly to convince him and his camp that his future belongs at Carrington.

The fact that he is holding regular talks with Amorim only reinforces the message that there is a clear first-team pathway for him at Old Trafford.

If Gabriel can keep his head down, stay focused, and continue his electric rise, it would not be a shock if United fast-tracked him into the senior squad before the season ends.
