Report: United is the perfect platform for Mauricio Pochettino – rejected other offers

Manchester United began their 2020-21 Premier League campaign in a bizarre fashion.

Their horrific run of results has already surged a wave of negativity surrounding the Mancunian club and a possibility of a sacking Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and hiring a new man in Mauricio Pochettino, as per a report from Mirror.

United lost 3-1 to Crystal Palace at home on the opening day of their campaign, salvaged a hard-fought victory against Brighton and Hove Albion at Amex Stadium, and finally endured a humiliating 6-1 defeat at the hands of Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur under the shade of the ‘Theater of Dreams’.

Pochettino, 48, has been without a managerial job since November 2019, when Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy had to replace the Argentinian with the appointment of Jose Mourinho.

It has been reported that despite several clubs across Europe showing their interest in Pochettino, the former Espanyol manager has had made no decision in rush.

He reportedly wants to join a big club who hold the potential of winning trophies at bigger stages.

Pochettino was the first and only manager to lead Spurs into the final of the Champions League. However, they eventually got defeated by Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.

The Argentine gaffer is in the hunt for a job which would give him the opportunity to end his trophy drought.

That being said, Manchester City are also interested in acquiring the services of the reputed coach. They see him as a perfect long-term replacement for Pep Guardiola.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a strong and congested run of fixtures where they will face the likes of PSG, Chelsea, RB Leipzig, and Arsenal on the trot. This could be a make-or-break month for the Norwegian.
