Report: Manchester United to buy players from the Championship

According to reports surrounding the red side of Manchester, the Red Devils are considering making moves from Championship.

Manchester United signed Donny van de Beek earlier in this summer transfer window by paying Ajax an initial €39m transfer fee.

Over the last few days, they have completed the signing of Alex Telles from Porto and Edinson Cavani as a free agent.

Manchester United suffered a heavy 6-1 defeat at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur, led by United’s former manager in Jose Mourinho, on Sunday afternoon.

The lacklustre performance has truly emphasised the fact that United are in dire need of reinforcements.

The deal for their no.1 summer transfer target Jadon Sancho is off and United failed to bring him to United.

However, the general understanding is even though United fail to make any signing in the remainder of the transfer market, they could sign some names from the Champions latter as the domestic transfer window is set to remain open until 16th October.

Man United have been in the pursuit of Ismaila Sarr for some time now. The Mancunian club sees Championship side Watford’s record signing as an alternative to Jadon Sancho.

United’s long-term defensive target in Ben Godfrey has recently joined Everton from the Championship side Norwich City.

And, amidst the financial turmoil created by the coronavirus pandemic, United could truly take advantage of the extended-domestic transfer period.
