Spanish publication AS reports that Manchester United are keen on singing Sergio Reguilon from Real Madrid.
Reguilon spent a brilliant season at Sevilla as they won the UEFA Europa League and earned a fourth-place finish in the league. He was their one of the best performers this season. United themselves faced Sevilla in the Europa League semi-finals and Reguilon stood out.
However, Zinedine Zidane prefers Marcelo and Ferland Mendy at Santiago Bernabeu.
Last month, Reguilon accepted that he himself doesn’t know where he will play next season. All he wants is to find plenty of game time and develop.
Reguilon is in great demand. Chelsea were in talks to sign him up but went with Ben Chilwell. Other clubs like Napoli, Sevilla, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus are also monitoring his situation.
However, Sevilla and United are the front-runners to sign him. Sevilla already signed Oscar Rodriguez from Real Madrid and are interested in another loan arrangement for Reguilon.
United, on the other hand, have an advantage as they can afford a permanent deal. It’d help Real Madrid as they are looking to raise funds by offloading some players.
