Pundit claims United have a Thomas Müller like midfielder in their side

Former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves believes that United have their own Thomas Müller in the team. [source- Daily Mail]

Speaking on BT Sport, He said :

” I think he’s a really good player. He hasn’t had the opportunity to show it”. 

“He could be like what Thomas Muller is for Bayern Munich – the style. Everybody tried to get Thomas Muller out of the team, but once he’s in, you can’t get him out in terms of goals, assists, he’s very unselfish, he can press the ball, he works in a midfield three, he can play as an 8 or a 10”. 

“[Van de Beek] is one of those… once he’s in the team Ole is going to find it hard to get him out”.

Hargreaves also believes that it would be very hard to get Donny Van De Beek out of the side after he settles into the squad.

Van De Beek is finding it hard to settle into Man United. The 23-year-old has been left frustrated by a lack of first-team opportunities since his £40 million arrival from Ajax earlier this summer.

Hargreaves also noted that Man United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer faces a selection dilemma in his midfield. Van de Beek’s arrival puts him in contention with Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes for spots in the center of the park.

The Dutch International did score his first goal for the club on his debut against Crystal Palace. United lost the game 3-1.

The coming rush of fixtures should provide Van De Beek an ample amount of opportunity to get into this Manchester United side.
