Preview: Newcastle United vs Manchester United – prediction, team news, line-ups

Manchester United return to action this weekend and will look to sustain the momentum they had before the international break.

The Red Devils play Newcastle United and will need to win, with both clubs fighting for a top-four finish.

Man United are third in the Premier League after 26 games, and just three points separate them from the Magpies.

Newcastle have also played 26 league games and are fifth in the table.

When and where will the game take place?

The Red Devils travel to Tyneside to face Newcastle at St. James’ Park on Sunday, April 2.

The game kicks off at 4.30 pm U.K. time and is the last game of the day.

Match Preview

Newcastle

Eddie Howe’s side headed into the international break on the back of two straight league wins.

They had failed to win in five league games before then, which saw them drop down from fourth.

Tottenham Hotspur have moved ahead of them in the table, but the north London club have played two more games and have just a two-point lead.

Newcastle will be playing the game with their Carabao Cup final defeat in mind.

Just one of their three league defeats happened at SJP, and Man United need to be on top of their game.

Manchester United

Erik ten Hag’s men went into the break after a 3-1 win over Fulham in the FA Cup.

However, they are without a victory in their last two games and will look to pick up all three points on the road.

The Red Devils are virtually out of the title race having gone 19 points behind leaders Arsenal.

Although they have two outstanding games to play, not many see them as capable of challenging the Gunners and Manchester City.

Man United are fighting for a top-four finish and failure to win on Sunday will not do their chances any good.
