FA Cup preview: Manchester United vs West Ham

Manchester United return to action in the FA Cup fifth round as they take on West Ham United at Old Trafford on Tuesday.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have defeated Watford and Liverpool to progress to this stage, while the Hammers have beaten Stockport County and Doncaster Rovers.

The Red Devils were flying high when they destroyed Southampton 9-0 in the Premier League but they couldn’t continue their brilliant form against Everton on Saturday.

United failed to secure full points to reignite their title race with Manchester City, despite taking a 2-0 lead in the first half.

The Toffees struck back after the interval to level the scores at 2-2, but the home side looked on course for victory when Scott McTominay popped up with a 70th-minute goal.

However, the Old Trafford fans were left disappointed when Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored the leveller in the 95th minute of the game to make sure the spoils were shared.

The Manchester side will now turn their attention to the FA Cup which they last won in 2016 with a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace.

Meanwhile, West Ham were also not very convincing last weekend, labouring to a goalless draw against Fulham in the top-flight.

David Moyes’ side have enjoyed an impressive Premier League campaign so far and are currently just a point behind fourth-placed Liverpool, having secured 11 victories from 23 matches.

 Team News

The Red Devils’ key midfielder Paul Pogba will not be available on Tuesday after he picked up an injury against the Toffees.

As for the Hammers, Arthur Masuaku and Darren Randolph will miss the game due to injury.
