Manchester United take on West Ham United in today’s Premier League game at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils progressed to the Europa League final after a stellar 7-1 aggregate win over Athletic Bilbao.
United face Tottenham Hotspur at San Mames on May 21, and manager Ruben Amorim may not take any risks prior to that.
The focus will be on rotating the squad. He could also hand out minutes to players needing to build up their fitness for the final.
United are 15th in the league with just 39 points. Their whole season depends on winning the Europa League to secure Champions League qualification.
Formation: 3-4-2-1
Predicted Line-up:
Andre Onana could continue in goal against the Hammers. We anticipate him to be rested for the league clash against Chelsea on the road next week.
In central defence, Amorim could bring in Tyler Fredricson and Luke Shaw to the line-up. Victor Lindelof should partner the duo with Harry Maguire and Leny Yoro being rested.
Jaydan Kamason has been waiting on the wings for his senior debut. The 18-year-old could get the nod at right wing-back with Noussair Mazraoui and Patrick Dorgu getting a break.
In that case, Harry Amass (18) is poised to start from the left wing-back position.
Casemiro has been exceptional in Europe since the turn of the year and Amorim may not risk him in the starting XI, just 72 hours after the 4-1 victory over Athletic at home.
The same could be the case for Manuel Ugarte. Hence, Kobbie Mainoo is expected to feature from the number six position today with Christian Eriksen in central midfield.
In the final third, Bruno Fernandes, Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund should be given a breather. The trio could start versus Chelsea in preparation for the Europa League final.
Mason Mount was exceptional off the bench with a brace in midweek. The Englishman should return to the XI alongside Amad, who also needs to build up his match fitness after surgery.
The duo should operate in the attacking midfield positions. Chido Obi was ineligible to play in Europe. The 17-year-old is poised to lead the line against the Hammers this afternoon.
