Manchester United take on Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup fifth round on the road tonight.
The Red Devils suffered a disappointing 2-1 Premier League defeat to Fulham last weekend which ended their unbeaten start to the year.
The club were second-best to Fulham for vast periods of the game and manager Erik ten Hag will want a strong response against Forest.
The competition offers United with the last chance to win a trophy this season, and the players must step up to the occasion.
Ahead of the game, there could be as many as four changes following an injury update last night.
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Predicted Line-up:
Andre Onana has missed just one game for United since his arrival from Inter Milan last summer. He was absent for the FA Cup fourth round tie due to international duty.
Ten Hag is expected to continue with the Cameroonian star in goal against Forest. He had a good outing last weekend despite the club’s defeat.
In front of him, there could be a couple of changes in the backline. Harry Maguire picked up an injury in the Cottagers loss and Ten Hag has confirmed his absence.
Raphael Varane is also deemed doubtful for the game. With the Frenchman’s fitness record, he may not be risked from the starting line-up in tonight’s Cup tie.
In that case, we could see 19-year-old Willy Kambwala line up alongside Jonny Evans in central defence with Diogo Dalot and Victor Lindelof in the full-back positions.
Casemiro was substituted early against Fulham after a clash of heads with Harrison Reed. He was bleeding from the incident and was substituted as a precaution.
The Brazilian has, however, returned to team training and Ten Hag confirmed yesterday that he is available. He should continue alongside Kobbie Mainoo in midfield.
Further forward, we anticipate two more changes. Bruno Fernandes is doubtful with a knock. If the club captain is sidelined, Christian Eriksen should start in the number 10 role.
Scott McTominay is a tempting choice for the manager, but Eriksen is a natural from the attacking role and has the ability to control possession which the Scot does not.
Eriksen created four chances and completed 100 per cent of his long balls coming off the bench against Fulham.
Elsewhere, Omari Forson is expected to be dropped after a disappointing full debut. Judging by Ten Hag’s presser, Antony is unlikely to get the nod on the right wing.
Amad, who received praise from the manager for his cameo against Fulham last weekend, looks the likely candidate to feature on the right side of United’s attack.
The rest of the front line should stay the same. Alejandro Garnacho will start on the left wing with Marcus Rashford up front to fill the void left by Rasmus Hojlund’s injury.
