Manchester United will be aiming to return to winning ways when they host Newcastle United in their final home game of the Premier League season.
The Red Devils have been disappointing since the international break and they have picked up only seven points from a possible 24 at their disposal.
This has put them three points behind seventh-placed Chelsea and sixth-placed Newcastle. Both of those teams have a superior goal difference too.
Hence, United’s European hopes are no longer in their own hands, but they must beat the Magpies tonight to give themselves a chance on the final day.
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Predicted Line-up:
Andre Onana has played every minute of the Premier League campaign for the Red Devils. He made three key saves against Arsenal last weekend, but the club still suffered a 1-0 loss. The Cameroonian is expected to continue in goal ahead of Altay Bayindir.
In front of him, there could be a solitary change in the backline. Casemiro was at fault for the Gunners goal as he played Kai Havertz onside in the lead-up with his poor positioning. He could be dropped for Lisandro Martinez, who has returned to team training over the past week.
Martinez should partner Jonny Evans in the heart of the defence with Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot continuing in the full-back roles. Wan-Bissaka could be playing his final home game for the club with suggestions that he could be sold during the summer.
Sofyan Amrabat had his best performance of the campaign against the Gunners. The Moroccan has not got sufficient opportunities on loan but proved his credentials last weekend. He should get the nod over Casemiro to partner Kobbie Mainoo in the centre of the park.
Further forward, we are anticipating a couple of changes. Club captain Bruno Fernandes should return in the number 10 role ahead of Scott McTominay, having had multiple training sessions after his injury.
Marcus Rashford could return to the starting XI too from the left wing position. Alejandro Garnacho has been a consistent starter for Ten Hag and could get the nod over Amad on the right flank.
Up front, Rasmus Hojlund will lead the attack once more with Anthony Martial on the sidelines. Martial has been spotted in partial training, but the Frenchman may have played his final game for the club.
