Predicted Man Utd line-up vs Man City – FA Cup final

Manchester United will take on arch-rivals Manchester City in today’s FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium.

The Red Devils have won the famous old competition on 12 occasions – only Arsenal have fared better (14).

Erik ten Hag will be aiming to add another trophy to the cabinet as United look to end the season on a strong note.

The club have already lifted the Carabao Cup and it would be an excellent campaign with another silverware.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Predicted Line-up:

David de Gea has been United’s undisputed choice in goal this term.

The Spaniard has made a few errors but overall, he has had another good season, keeping 25 clean sheets. He is expected to continue between the sticks.

In front of him, Ten Hag could make three changes from the 2-1 comeback win over Fulham. Diogo Dalot could make way for Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s return at right-back.

Harry Maguire is set to drop to the bench with Raphael Varane expected to partner Victor Lindelof in central defence.

Luke Shaw was an unused substitute against the Cottagers but should return in the left-back spot ahead of Tyrell Malacia.

Casemiro has picked up his form over recent weeks and he will be pivotal in the number six position in the Manchester derby.

Christian Eriksen is the natural choice for the number eight role for Ten Hag but Fred could be backed with another start.

The Brazilian had a lively showing against Fulham. He played a part in both goals, delivering a superb assist for the winner.

Fred did a superb job of man-marking Kevin De Bruyne in the 2-1 win in January and he could be tasked with a similar role.

In attack, Ten Hag has limited options at his disposal with Anthony Martial injured and Antony ‘unlikely‘ to be available for him.

It should be a straightforward decision. Bruno Fernandes is a nailed-on starter from the number 10 position as always.

Jadon Sancho should play on the right wing with Alejandro Garnacho featuring on the opposite flank.

Marcus Rashford, who has 30 goals for the campaign, will lead the attack. He has five goals against City from 17 meetings.
