Manchester United welcome arch-rivals Liverpool to Old Trafford for the FA Cup quarter-final this evening.
The Red Devils recently returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Everton. Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford scored from the penalty spot in the first half.
United will now be aiming to beat their fierce rivals to keep their hopes alive of winning a trophy this term.
Ahead of the game, there could be several changes to the starting XI. United have confirmed that Jonny Evans is out while Casemiro also appears to have picked up an injury.
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Predicted Line-up:
Andre Onana has missed just one game for United this term due to international duty. The Cameroon star looks set to continue in goal ahead of Altay Bayindir, who has been ruled out of the quarter-final with a muscle strain.
In front of him, we anticipate a couple of changes from the Toffees win. Victor Lindelof has played at left-back in recent outings, but the Swede could drop to the bench with Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s return to full fitness.
Wan-Bissaka is likely to slot in the right-back position with Diogo Dalot moving to the left-back role. Raphael Varane is a nailed-on starter in central defence. Harry Maguire looks likely to partner him after returning from injury.
In midfield, there could be an enforced change with Brazil confirming that Casemiro has been ruled out of their squad due to an injury blow. In our view, the manager should go with Sofyan Amrabat alongside Kobbie Mainoo.
Scott McTominay has been far from impressive in the defensive point of view. Christian Eriksen may also struggle to cope with the high press from the Reds. Mason Mount is an option, but he has just returned after a long-term injury and may not start.
Further forward, Ten Hag will have the chance to play his best attack with Rasmus Hojlund back in the mix. The Dane, who has eight goals in his last eight games, is expected to lead the attack with Bruno Fernandes returning to his number 10 role.
Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho should continue in the left and right wing positions respectively. McTominay looks the likely candidate to make way, having played in an advanced midfield role for the Red Devils in recent outings.
