Manchester United will be eyeing a fifth successive Premier League win when they host Fulham at Old Trafford this afternoon.
The Red Devils have been in good form over the past few weeks, but they have had to work hard for some of those victories
Rasmus Hojlund has been a key player for the club with goals in each of his last six league games, but he won’t be available.
The Dane is sidelined for two to three weeks with a muscle injury which is a huge blow.
His absence will lead to at least one change for today’s game against the Cottagers which is a must-win for the Red Devils.
They need a victory to keep up with Aston Villa, who are five points ahead of them in fourth.
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Predicted Line-up:
Andre Onana is expected to continue in goal versus the Cottagers. The Cameroonian has improved his decision-making and handling. He looks much more assured between the sticks from the start of the campaign.
In defence, we are predicting a solitary change from the recent win over Luton. Victor Lindelof has played at left-back over the past one-and-a-half games, but we could see a change as the Swede has just returned from injury.
We anticipate Diogo Dalot to move to left-back with Willy Kambwala occupying the right-back role. Raphael Varane and Harry Maguire are likely to continue at the heart of the backline for the Red Devils.
Further forward, Casemiro and Kobbie Mainoo have established themselves as the preferred midfield pairing for several weeks and Ten Hag is unlikely to consider separating the duo.
Casemiro was substituted at the half-time interval at Luton as he was one foul away from a potential sending-off. The manager will expect more discipline from the Brazilian star this afternoon.
In attack, Alejandro Garnacho has made the right wing position his own in recent weeks and deserves to start there. However, the Argentine still has room to improve with his finishing.
Bruno Fernandes is a nailed-on starter from the number 10 role and we could see Marcus Rashford from the left wing again despite Hojlund being ruled out for the game with a muscle issue.
Ten Hag said that Rashford is not assured to play up front in his pre-match presser and highlighted that the likes of Omari Forson and Amad Diallo are options to lead the line for him.
The 19-year-old has made just three cameo appearances. One of those came as a striker against Wolves where he provided the crucial assist for Mainoo’s sensational 97th-minute winner.
