Predicted Man Utd line-up vs Crystal Palace, Jonny Evans returns

Manchester United will be aiming to return to winning ways in tonight’s Premier League game against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

The Red Devils have been in poor league form since the international break and they have picked up only seven points from a possible 18.

As a result, they have now dropped to eighth in the standings behind Chelsea, who have a vastly better goal difference at the moment.

However, United have the opportunity to climb up to sixth ahead of Newcastle United if they manage to beat the Eagles on the road.

Ahead of the game, the club have confirmed that Harry Maguire won’t be involved after picking up a muscle injury in team training.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Predicted Line-up:

Andre Onana has played every minute of the top-flight campaign and he is assured to keep his place between the sticks. The Cameroon international needs a better performance, having gifted goals in the last two league outings. He conceded a penalty against Burnley last time around.

In the back four, there will be an enforced change with Maguire sidelined. Jonny Evans, who has just returned to team training, could be drafted straight into the line-up alongside Casemiro in central defence.

The club are currently without five central defenders. Aside from Maguire, Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane, Victor Lindelof and Willy Kambwala are also on the sidelines at the moment.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot are assured starters from the right and left-back positions respectively with Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia still absent with respective injuries.

In midfield, we anticipate a solitary change with Christian Eriksen making way for Mason Mount. The Englishman could make his first start since November alongside Kobbie Mainoo in the centre of the park.

Bruno Fernandes has been carrying a wrist injury in recent games and he is a doubt for today’s trip. However, the Portuguese should still be fancied to make the starting XI from the number 10 role.

Fernandes has been in superb league form with seven goals and two assists in his last seven outings.

Elsewhere, Antony and Alejandro Garnacho should continue on the right and left wing respectively. Marcus Rashford has been ruled out of the game with an injury sustained against Coventry City.

Antony scored against Burnley after a defensive error. It was his first goal of the league campaign and will be aiming to carry on with another good attacking performance against Palace tonight.

Rasmus Hojlund is guaranteed to lead the attack. He has scored just once since his return from injury in March, but should start once more. Anthony Martial is only in partial training after his groin surgery.
