Manchester United will be eyeing a second successive Premier League win when they host Burnley at Old Trafford this afternoon.
The Red Devils registered a 4-2 victory over Sheffield United on Wednesday, but they had to work hard for the result.
The club were 2-1 behind in the 50th minute of the game. Bruno Fernandes rescued them with a fantastic performance.
The Portuguese converted a penalty before scoring with a stunning strike from outside the box. He also provided a clever assist for Rasmus Hojlund’s goal.
United are clear favourites against the Clarets and should be fancied to pick up another three points to boost their prospects of Europa League football.
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Predicted Line-up:
Andre Onana has been ever-present in goal for United in the Premier League. The Cameroonian star is expected to keep his place despite his error leading to the Blades’ opening goal in midweek.
In defence, it should be the same back four. Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are nailed-on starters in the full-back positions with Luke Shaw, Victor Lindelof and Tyrell Malacia out injured.
Wan-Bissaka should start from the right-back role with Diogo Dalot on the opposite end.
Harry Maguire looks set to be accompanied by Casemiro at the heart of the defence. Maguire had a brilliant game last time around. He scored a crucial equaliser before winning a penalty.
Christian Eriksen struggled to provide any control in midfield against the Blades and we anticipate the Dane to drop to the bench. Scott McTominay should be back in the playing XI.
The Scot will be partnered by Kobbie Mainoo who has been a mainstay in Erik ten Hag’s line-up since his breakthrough. The wonderkid will feature as the holding midfielder.
Further forward, Fernandes is expected to start from his customary number 10 role. Garnacho, who provided an assist in midweek, should continue on the left wing with Marcus Rashford injured.
Amad Diallo could be handed his first league start of the season ahead of Antony, who produced another lacklustre showing on Wednesday. The youngster deserves to get the nod on the right wing.
