Predicted Man Utd line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Brentford, Fred returns

Manchester United entertain Brentford in Monday’s Premier League encounter at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils are seemingly out of the top-four race after picking up just one point from the last three league games.

However, there is still a Europa League spot at stake. Interim boss Ralf Rangnick will want to end his tenure on a high.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Predicted Line-up:

David de Gea has been exceptional between the sticks this term. He was hugely instrumental in the 1-1 draw against Chelsea in midweek with five saves. The Spaniard is expected to continue in goal.

No changes are expected to the backline. Aaron Wan-Bissaka was out with a minor injury on Thursday, and could return to the squad. However, Diogo Dalot is the undisputed right-back at the moment.

The same is the case for Alex Telles at left-back with Luke Shaw injured. Raphael Varane and Victor Lindelof should continue at the heart of the backline with Harry Maguire doubtful with a knee injury.

In the centre of the park, there could be a change with Scott McTominay making way for Fred. The Brazil international has had a couple of training sessions after a calf injury, and should reclaim a starting spot.

Nemanja Matic should be fancied to partner him after back-to-back impressive performances. The Serbian has registered an assist in each of the last two outings against Arsenal and Chelsea.

Further forward, no changes are expected. Jadon Sancho could be out for the season with tonsillitis. It is unclear whether Jesse Lingard will be available, having missed the midweek game due to personal reasons.

Anthony Elanga, Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford are expected to line up behind Cristiano Ronaldo. Rashford was poor with his defensive work, and needs to show a huge improvement on Monday.

Predicted Man Utd line-up (4-2-3-1): De Gea; Dalot, Lindelof, Varane, Telles; Fred, Matic; Elanga, Fernandes, Rashford; Ronaldo.
