Player wants Manchester United move – rejects offers from other clubs

The name of Boubakary Soumare has recently been thrown on the air, linking with a plausible January move to Old Trafford.

Several sources surrounding both clubs have come up with the stories of the 21-year-old rejecting moves to Wolves and Newcastle United in the latest summer transfer window.

Reports have also confirmed that clubs from Serie A such as AC Milan, Inter Milan, and Napoli tried to hijack a deal, only to face the rejection either from the player or from the club.

Manchester United’s interest in the French midfielder hasn’t gone unnoticed either over the last few years.

However, Lille‘s Everest-esque asking price meant the aforementioned interest never turned into real talks between the clubs over striking a deal.

But, with Lille president Gerard Lopez claiming that the former PSG midfielder would leave soon, a move to a top Premier League club has started looking like a viable option.

On top of that, Soumare‘s current contract with Lille is set to run out in June next year as there is no indication of a renewal.

The Frenchman is only considering moving to either Manchester United or Liverpool.

And considering Liverpool just signed Thiago, a move to the ‘Theatre of Dreams’ seems more likely.

To dodge the possibility of losing him for free next summer, Lille will be trying to conclude a sale with minimum profit in the upcoming January transfer window.

And United could get their long-desired target for a meaningful price then.
