Manchester United picked up a creditable 0-0 draw against Liverpool at Old Trafford this afternoon despite being forced into three first half substitutions due to injury.
Neither side created much in a dull game that saw Liverpool move back to the top of the Premier League by one point.
Arsenal have moved above us into fourth spot by one point following their 2-0 win at home to Southampton.
Here are how our players fared:
David de Gea 6 – Barely had anything to do all day.
Ashley Young 9 – Liverpool fans would have been confident in Sadio Mane getting among the goalscorers today but the Senegalese forward was kept very quiet by Ashley Young at right-back.
Chris Smalling 9 – David de Gea was very well protected against Liverpool’s free scoring attack even without Nemanja Matic and after being forced into three substitutions in the first half.
Victor Lindelof 9 – Excellent performance from the Swede who kept Roberto Firmino and Daniel Sturridger quiet over 90 minutes, making a number of tackles and clearances.
Luke Shaw 9 – Man marked Mohamed Salah out of the game before the Egyptian was replaced in the final 15 minutes. Couldn’t get forward very often.
Scott McTominay
Ander Herrera N/A – Energetic start but lasted just 20 minutes due to injury. A huge loss in the centre of the park that affect Ole’s game plan.
Paul Pogba 7 – Put in a good shift off the ball but made a fair few misplaced passes in Liverpool’s half.
Juan Mata N/A – Replaced midway through the first half after picking up an injury. Prior to this Juan Mata barely had a touch.
Marcus Rashford 3 – Appeared to pick up a hamstring injury in the first half but stayed on with Ole having made three first half substitutes. Limped around in the second half but couldn’t do anything.
Romelu Lukaku 6 – Spent most of the game out on the right wing due to injuries. Put a shift in but looked knackered through most of the second half. Won his aerial battles but not a threat on Alisson’s goal.
Substitutes
Andreas Pereira (71 mins) 6 – Early first half substitution – Liverpool failed to cause many problems through the middle of the park.
Jesse Lingard (18 mins) N/A – Was a doubt heading into the game replaced an injured Juan Mata midway through the first half and went off injured himself before half-time. Missed an excellent one-on-one opportunity whilst he was on the pitch as Alisson took the ball away from him after his first touch.
Alexis Sanchez (49 mins) 5 – On the fringes of the game as the third substitute in the first half; Alexis Sanchez didn’t see too much of the ball as Liverpool dominated possession.
