Player Ratings: Crystal Palace 0-2 Man Utd

Goals from Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial in each half guided Manchester United to a 2-0 win away to Crystal Palace on Thursday night.

Rashford opened the scoring with a composed finish shortly before half-time before providing the assist for Martial in the final 15 minutes towrapup the win.

Victory moves us back level on points with Leicester City and one behind Chelsea with two games to go. Meanwhile. the Eagles have now lost their last six Premier League games.

Here are our player ratings:

David de Gea 7 – Made a couple of decent saves but nothing too difficult for David de Gea to deal with.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka 7 – Covered a lot of ground up and down the field. Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s production in the final third was poor but he won the ball back in his own half a number of times.

Victor Lindelof 7 – Made a couple of decent tackles but also a little fortunate not to concede a penalty for a collision with Wilfried Zaha just moments before we took the lead. Crystal Palace forced a few saves out of de Gea but mostly from long range.

Harry Maguire 8 – May wonder how he didn’t open the scoring in the first half with three headed chances. Harry Maguire won all his aerial battles and made a couple of interceptions too in a better performance than recent games.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah 8 – Andros Townsend didn’t threaten too much down the right as Timothy Fosu-Mensah had a solid game in his first appearance of the season.

Scott McTominay 6– Looked after the ball well but didn’t always protect the centre-backs adequately before being replaced on the hour.

Paul Pogba 6 – Quiet game from Paul Pogba tonight, who created nothing nor test Vicente Guaita.

Mason Greenwood 7 – Didn’t see too much of the ball but was fairly lively in possession. Mason Greenwood was unselfish and setup the odd chance in the first half. Taken off on the hour.

Bruno Fernandes 8 – Might be rewarded with an assist for the opening goal and nutmegged a defender in the build up to the second. Many of Bruno Fernandes’ passes didn’t come off at Selhurst Park tonight but two important ones did that lead to our goals. Should have scored at 1-0 but struck the post.

Marcus Rashford 9 – Great composure in front of goal to give us the lead just before half-time. Then an excellent assist for the second. Marcus Rashford was a real threat to the Crystal Palace defence from out on the left. Denied a second with a first time effort in stoppage time.

Anthony Martial 8 – Another fine finish from Anthony Martial killed the game off when making it 2-0 in the final 15 minutes. Teamed up well with Rashford in attack.

Substitutes

Jesse Lingard (30 mins) 5 – Barely got himself in the game after replacing Mason Greenwood down the right wing.

Nemanja Matic (29 mins) 8 – Replaced Scott McTominay at 1-0 to help see out the win. Crystal Palace were never a threat after Nemanja Matic’s introduction.
